CARLOS CURATES:
R&J REIMAGINED

14 - 16 OCT 2021 BIRMINGHAM HIPPODROME

Following Wednesday's world premiere of Romeo + Juliet, we are delighted to announce that the Company will be taking the stage again in a double-bill with Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Birmingham Royal Ballet's Artistic Director Carlos Acosta's Carlos Curates: R&J Reimagined will feature not one but two striking interpretations of Shakespeare's classic tragedy: Romeo + Juliet will appear alongside Edward Clug's Radio and Juliet, a new addition to Birmingham Royal Ballet's repertoire.

For the very first time, we will be performing Romeo + Juliet with Birmingham Royal Ballet’s orchestra, the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, adding an additional and thrilling new dimension to the performance.

It was such a joy to finally share Romeo + Juliet with a live audience on Wednesday. The premiere of our 'love letter to Birmingham' was especially poignant after the six month postponement of the show in what has been an incredibly difficult period for the arts.

We are absolutely delighted to be invited by Carlos Acosta to join with Birmingham Royal Ballet for this truly unique double-bill. To see our incredible Romeo + Juliet cast alongside Birmingham Royal Ballet’s extraordinarily talented performers will be a huge moment in RKDC’s history and for our dance community.
