Dear [subscriber:firstname | default:reader],

Season's greetings to you from us at RKDC!

It’s been such a wonderful year, and we can’t believe it’s nearly over already. We started the year with a new cast of 5 SOLDIERS, and toured the UK, Denmark and had a fabulous week in San Francisco.

After that the cast doubled and it was a thrilling experience to create 10 SOLDIERS for large-scale theatres, with a glitzy opening with Dame Kelly Holmes at Birmingham Hippodrome, before touring to Edinburgh and Norwich.

The summer and autumn has all been about music, beauty and creating joy, which has been, well, a joy! Fantasia toured the UK and we are over the moon it’s been selected as one of the best works of dance in 2019 (see below).

The future is exciting, with our tour dates for spring 2020 below and work already commencing on my new works for 2021.

Thank you so much for all your support and we look forward to seeing you in 2020!

With best wishes,
Rosie Kay
Artistic Director

Nelson Mandela School

As part of Rosie's research for her Birmingham based Romeo & Juliet, RKDC are working with the whole of year six through each school term at Birmingham's Nelson Mandela School in Sparkbrook. Workshop 1 was about group identity and the ancient feud of the Capulets and the Montagues. The students were fantastic and Rosie can’t wait to do session 2.

New College Swindon

Rosie spent a day with dance students from New College Swindon researching Romeo & Juliet and explored modern gang culture with them. They also spent time exploring the text of the famous balcony scene and created duets based on the text, which resulted in beautifully sensitive and fresh duet work.
