Global Live Stream Kicks Off 5 SOLDIERS National Tour of Army Barracks

The Space commissions live streaming of Sadler’s Wells presentation of Rosie Kay’s acclaimed show and post-event discussion featuring senior Army officers
On Friday 8 September from 7.45pm to 9.15pm, 5 Soldiers will be broadcast LIVE from an Army base in London. The live stream will take place via www.5soldiers.co.uk and our Facebook page @rosiekaydancecompany, plus we’ll be working with distribution partners Sadler’s Wells, The British Army and BBC Arts to ensure as many people as possible can experience it.

Fresh from a sell-out Edinburgh run

5 Soldiers has just finished a sell-out run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, receiving ★★★★★ from Broadway Baby, Edinburgh Festivals Magazine and the Edinburgh Guide as well as a Summerhall Jawbone Award for ‘Greatest Festival Moments 2017’. It previously won a string of ★★★★★ reviews from The Observer, The Herald and The Scotsman for its visceral portrayal of the lives and experiences of a female and four young male soldiers as they undergo training and are deployed in the middle of a brutal conflict.

Post-show talk

As well as the 60-minute show, the live stream will also broadcast the post-show talk where the audience will be able to put questions to a panel including Lt Gen James Bashall Commander Home Command, Lt Col Sue Wright former SO1 Arts, the show’s creator, choreographer Rosie Kay, Sadler’s Wells Artistic Director and Chief Executive Alistair Spalding and Observer dance critic Luke Jennings.

Get involved in the conversation and send us your questions that you’d like to ask the panel on Twitter via the hashtag #5SoldiersLIVE
Fiona Morris, Chief Executive and Creative Director of The Space, spoke about awarding the commission to Rosie Kay Dance Company: “The Space is delighted to be working with this exciting, innovative Midlands dance company, helping them transform the reach of this powerful new work to online audiences around the UK and beyond. It is incredibly exciting that artists now have opportunities to publish work online that responds to contemporary issues and prompts debate across society.”

The broadcast will also be available on-demand for a month after the live stream so catch it while it’s available on www.5soldiers.co.uk and Facebook Live @rosiekaydancecompany
