Hello [subscriber:firstname, | default:],

What a busy few months! I've just finished a huge production of Woyzeck at Birmingham Repertory Theatre as part of Birmingham International Dance Festival - check out the pictures and reviews. We've also been touring MODERN WARRIOR as part of the festival and we have a new trailer for you to enjoy too.

We have taken our relationship with Birmingham Hippodrome to the next level - becoming an Associate Company and announcing an exciting new commission. Two new venues are now on sale for our pop culture conspiracy piece MK ULTRA and we are launching 5 SOLDIERS: On Demand, a free full-length film especially useful for students and teachers studying the show as part of the BTEC Tech Performing Arts syllabus. This is my director's cut from The Space's live recording, it's worth a watch for anyone!

Best wishes,
Rosie Kay, Artistic Director

Becoming an Associate Company of Birmingham’s Hippodrome with mainstage show 10 SOLDIERS

Birmingham Hippodrome is one of the largest theatres in the UK with a capacity of 1,850 people and welcoming over 500,000 visitors each year, and we have just been announced as one of their first ever Associate Companies. We're proud to be part of this new programme and in great company alongside Zoo Nation, Motion House and Sonia Sabri Company.

Following our performance of MK ULTRA in the Hippodrome’s Patrick Studio, we will be presenting a new large-scale re-working of our five star show 5 SOLDIER as 10 SOLDIERS on Tue 21 May 2019. Taking place on the main stage, 10 SOLDIERS will take a fresh look at life in the British Army including examinations of equality, diversity and LGBTQI+ issues within the military.

We've already had one week of research and development with ten dancers which was supported by The Movement (a partnership between Birmingham Hippodrome, The Lowry and Sadler's Wells) and it looks incredible on a bigger scale.

10 SOLDIERS can also be seen at Edinburgh Festival Theatre on Thu 30 May 2019.

MK ULTRA: new venues on sale

We now have tickets available to come and see MK ULTRA at Cardiff’s Sherman Theatre on 28 & 29 September and LEAP Dance Festival in Liverpool on Saturday 10 November. Make you sure you get in there early if you want to get a ticket, and if you know someone interested in conspiracy theory, youth culture, Adam Curtis films and dance, tell them about the show! Venues already on sale are Birmingham Hippodrome for 20 & 21 September, Guildford’s G Live for 2 October, and Southbank Centre, London for 8 November.

Something to watch: Modern Warrior’s new trailer

Modern Warrior has jumped into action, springing its way into summer festivals across the UK. We filmed the outdoor show’s first Trailer in Birmingham and it is now available to watch online. On 8 July, we will be taking this family-friendly epic adventure to Bournemouth as part of Pavilion Dance South West’s Discover, Play, Dream: Dance! Modern Warrior is a participatory dance show that people of all ages and abilities can take part in, learning dance-meets-martial arts moves to play a role as the story unfolds.

5 SOLDIERS on demand

If you missed our live stream of 5 SOLDIERS last September or would like to see it again, you can now watch it on demand. This is the 'director's cut' with edits made personally by Rosie to create the definitive version of 5 SOLDIERS on film.

5 SOLDIERS will also be touring live in February 2019 before travelling to Denmark and USA.
