Rosie Kay Dance Company is a registered charity creating brave new dance in Birmingham that tours to audiences at home and abroad. We thrill and move a diverse public with relevant, important, political and meaningful dance responding to contemporary society from a female perspective.

We’re seeking a creative person with marketing and/or communications skills and experience to join the voluntary board of directors . You might be a self-promoting artist with an amazing grasp of social media, working in the marketing team at a cultural venue, an active blogger or a box office whizz. We’d love to hear from someone who will champion and challenge us on how we can best connect with and develop audiences. We welcome people from across the UK, at all levels of experience and can provide training if required.

As part of our commitment to the #MoreThanAMoment Pledge for Action With & For Black Creatives we particularly welcome Black applicants, who are currently underrepresented on our board.

The board of directors are responsible for the governance, compliance and strategic management of the organisation. The board meets four times a year, currently on Zoom but usually in central Birmingham, on weekday afternoons as well as attending events and performances throughout the year. Joining the board represents a time commitment of an average of one day per month. Expenses incurred in attending meetings can be reimbursed.
